How Palworld breeding works

Breeding in Palworld is deterministic — there's no randomness in which Pal you get. Every Pal has a hidden CombiRank (a breeding-power value, roughly 1 to 1500). When you breed two parents A and B, the baby is the Pal whose CombiRank is closest to:

child = Pal with CombiRank nearest to floor((A + B + 1) / 2)

Two rules override this formula. About 28 special combinations are hardcoded (for example, Relaxaurus + Sparkit always produces Relaxaurus Lux), and a few pairs are gender-locked. Unique Pals can only be produced by their special combination, never by the formula. Every result on this site is computed from the real game data, so special combos and gender locks are always handled correctly.

Using the Breeding Calculator

The Breeding Calculator works two ways:

• Breed two Pals — pick one parent to preview every pairing it breeds into, or pick both parents to see the exact offspring.
• Find parents — choose the Pal you want and get every parent combination that produces it.

Using the Breeding Tree

Some Pals take several steps to breed. The Breeding Tree lets you pick a target Pal and expand each parent step by step, branching down until you reach Pals you already own. It ranks each pairing by how easy it is to obtain, saves your trees locally, and guides you through every step so you can just keep clicking.

Finding where a Pal spawns

A breeding path usually starts from a few base Pals you have to catch first. The Pal location map shows every place a Pal spawns on Palpagos Islands — pick a Pal and its wild spots light up with level ranges, day vs night, and field & dungeon bosses. The locations come straight from the Palworld 1.0 game files, so they stay accurate when older maps go stale. Every Pal page also has a “Where to catch” mini-map, and base Pals in the Breeding Tree link right to it.

Browsing the Pal database

The Pals database lists every Pal with stats, elements and work suitability. Search by name, filter by element, rarity and work, and sort by any stat. Each Pal's page shows its full breeding combinations plus quick links to breed it as a child or as a parent.
